Overview

This beautiful Kirkwood home is totally encapsulated in spray foam insulation – from the basement to the underside of the roof sheathing. This home is also heated and cooled using a geothermal system to maximize efficiency.

Proper venting in this tight attic space was difficult, so we decided to apply foam directly to the underside of the roof. This installation decision had the added benefit of bringing the heating and cooling ducting into the conditioned space of the building.

The drywall is up in the attic and the spray foam insulated room is as comfortable as it is beautiful.

Interior walls were also insulated with spray foam for improved comfort and noise reduction. Notice the wall is air sealed with foam but not packed full. Leaving this extra air space within the wall cavity stops noise better than filling it totally.
